This is my first attempt at an Android application. It started out as a simple little program that converted between hourly rate and annual salary allowing one to freely and easily compare offers in different formats but has become progressively more complex as features were added.

Unlike the other programs I've been able to find this application has provisions for entering details such as the number of public holidays in a year and amount of sick (personal) leave offered to calculate the exact number of working hours. These details are then used to facilitate accurate conversion. The results can be viewed as Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, 13 Month, 12 Month or Annual bundles and also shows wages both with and without superannuation. There is also an option (called "Casual Rate") which allows you to specify whether the given bundle should include compensation for entitlements (Sick-Pay, Paid-Vacation time etc.) or not.

Note that all fields accept decimal numbers so one can calculate fractional values for say public holidays if it is known that some holidays are not always observed. One such example of this in Australia would be "Australia Day" celebrated on the 26th of January. As it is, if the 26th of January were to fall on a Saturday most people would in fact have one fewer public holidays that year than others so the number of public holidays could be entered as 10 and 6/7 (10.86) instead of 11 to account for this. If Australia Day were to fall on a Sunday however the public holiday is observed on the following Monday which is why I suggest calculating it as being 6/7 of a holiday as opposed to 5/7.

If you are wanting to take into consideration other penalty rates such as working on Saturdays you can account for this by increasing the "Hours Worked" appropriately. If you were to work an additional 6 hours on Saturday and be paid time and a half for the first four hours and then double pay for the remaining 2 hours simply increase your "Hours Worked" by 10 (4hrs x 1.5 + 2hrs x 2) a week to account for this. Although you have only worked an additional 6 hours because of your increased rate you will be paid the equivalent of having worked an additional 10 hours so it is 10 hours that should be added to the "Hours Worked" field to account for it.
